A Novel Artificial Life Ecosystem Environment Model
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper presents information flow model and a novel artificial life grid model to construct artificial life computer ecosystem environment. The life grid model is a three-dimensional information space: (time, artificial life node, and location). The former two dimensions identify the contents or function of artificial life systems, and the third-dimension identifies the location where an artificial life system exists. We depart the artificial life node architecture into four levels: artificial life system application level, engine library level, sensor level, and the connectivity level. In information flow model, we present the ALife information definition, characteristic and four kinds of information communication mechanisms (broad-diffuse, Multi-diffuse, uni-diffuse and anydiffuse).

Land cover is defined as the physical material of the surface of the earth, including different vegetation covers, bare soil, water surface, various urban areas, etc. Land cover and its changes are very important and influential on the Earth and life of living organisms, especially human beings. Land cover change monitoring is important for protecting the ecosystem, forests, farmland, open spac...
متن کاملEvolving Sonic Ecosystems
This paper describes a novel type of artistic Artificial Life environment. Evolving agents, who have the ability to make and listen to sound, populate a synthetic world. An evolvable, rule-based system drives agent behaviour. Agents compete for limited resources in a virtual environment that is influenced by the presence and movement of the artwork’s audience. Through a link between the real an...
متن کاملArtificial-Life Ecosystems - What are they and what could they become?
This paper summarises the history of the terms ecology and ecosystem, before examining their application in the early and recent literature of A-Life agent-based software simulation. It investigates trends in A-Life that have led to a predominance of simulations incorporating artificial evolution acting on generic agents, but lacking a level of detail that would allow the emergence of phenomena...

متن کاملThe Ecology of Echo
Echo is a generic ecosystem model in which evolving agents are situated in a resource-limited environment. The Echo model is described, and the behavior of Echo is evaluated on two well-studied measures of ecological diversity: relative species abundance and the species-area scaling relation. In simulation experiments, these measures are used to compare the behavior of Echo with that of a neutr...
